REVIEW - URBAN DECAY NAKED2 BASICS

As you may of seen the latest Naked Smokey palette is blowing up the blogosphere at the minute. 

So in light of this I thought now would be a good time to give the little guy some credit.

Urban Decay Naked2 Basics

I got the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics palette for Christmas '14 and was so excited to use it on New Years Eve watching the fireworks in London.

Unfortunately for one reason or another, I had a ridiculous allergic reaction the next morning and my eye lids had swollen up.

I was completely mortified as let's face it, Naked palettes aren't cheap, and shoved it away in my box where unused make up goes to collect dust until I decide to have a clear out - until very recently. 

I dug it out of hiding and crossed my fingers and hoped for the best and as luck had it, the next morning there was a very minimal reaction.

Since then I have started using it a lot more and my skin seems to be getting used to it  (I think it's a certain pigment in the shadow that just didn't agree with my silly skin.)

So...now I can actually give it fair feedback without my overly sensitive skin getting involved.

REVIEW

I've actually read some really rubbish reviews about this little palette but personally I think it's pretty nifty.

L-R Skimp, Stark, Frisk, Cover, Primal, Undone.

The colours are completely matte but are quite varied tones so you can easily create a number of looks from the one palette. The colours are very subtle and are perfect for day to day wearing or a more neutral but still smokey eye, perhaps for a casual evening or a night at the pub.

I really like to use Stark on its own, sometimes teamed with some eyeliner. It's a lovely colour and make yours eye pop without any real  effort.

For a slight smokey eye I used Skimp all over concentrating on the inner corners and part way to the brow, Frisk across the lid,  Primal in the crease and Undone to line and at the outer corners.

I know it isn't the most versatile and I do only mostly use this during the day (probably because my night life is slightly lacking at the mo) but I actually think it should be considered as a staple to any make up collection. 

Everyone needs some neutral colours every now and again, right!?

What does everyone else think? I'm definitely pro basics...and that's after they gave me very swollen eye lids!
