DAY IN, DAY OUT - MAKE UP

At school I was never really a BIG make up wearer. In my early teens I rocked the blue, white and pink shadow with some pressed powder. At secondary school I up'ed to light foundation and concealer with mascara. I also went through a faze of black glittery eye shadow for a while.

I've always loved make up but I never really had the confidence to wear it when I was younger. Some people wear make up because of low self esteem - I just didn't dare bring any further attention to myself.

Nowadays I like to wear natural make up during the day - occasionally I will add a lipstick, a bit of eyeliner and even eye shadow but following on from Day In, Day Out - Face Products, these are the staple products in my make up bag.

MAC Studio Fluid/Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
£22/£6.99
I have used Rimmel Match Perfection for quite some years. I feel it gives great coverage and stays put through out the day. I use MAC Studio Fluid as a going out Foundation and sometimes add the both together if I am having an overly pale day.

Benefit Boing Concealer
£17.50
Although I don't always use this on a day to day basis I swear by this concealer. It hides a multitude of sims (and blemishes!)

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara
£5.99
This is the only mascara that I have found that works with my long but straight eye lashes. Combined with my faithful eyelash curler's this is my perfect combo.

Maybelline Brow Drama Brow Mascara
£4.99
As I've said in a previous post, I love this stuff. It creates natural but structured brows without having the effort of colouring and shading. Perfect for on the go.

Benefit Coralista Blush
£23.50
The blush is the perfect tone between bronzer and blush so is easy to brush on in a rush (and plus it smells scrummy!!)

Carmex Cherry Lip Balm
£2.99
My lips get very dry and I swear by this stuff in the day, especially in the winter. It also contains SPF which makes it great for holidays.

What are your guys favourite quick fix products?

FACE OFF - LIQUID VS GEL LINER

As I've said in previous posts my liner skills are not my greatest - they are actually quite shocking - so any product that claims to make my life easier is worth investigation.
After reading various reviews about how much easier gel liner was in comparison to pencil or liquid I decided to put it to the test.

REVIEW - MAYBELLINE DREAM FRESH

I've been scouting around for my holiday essentials and I was on the look out for a tinted moisturiser when I came across these BB creams.

PALE GIRL - HUNT FOR THE SUMMER BODY

A bit of background...I used to be a tad addicted to fake tan. I used to get discount on Fake Bake from the wholesalers so to try and get myself to the same level as my naturally tanned friends I used to lather it on every weekend. But when my boyfriend moved in I had to sacrifice the biscuit smell and the orange sheets which I was more than happy to do...mostly.

I've been free of tan for around a year now...with the exceptions of maybe 2 occasions.
It's now 5 weeks until holiday and I really can't take the paleness when everyone is getting browner! As much as I accept my lack of colour...a slightly less whiter shade would be appreciated.

SATURDAY'S FINDINGS

It's finally the weekend!!

After a much needed lie in I had to nip to Next to get a pillow I ordered in the sale last week.
On my way I got a little distracted by Boots and the New Look sale and I may of come home with some goodies.

WHAT I'M WATCHING - BBC'S HAIR

As hopeless as I am, hair is not a strong point of mine! I have 3 styles of up, straight or wavey.
(Part of the reason why I love shorter hair!)

DAY IN, DAY OUT - FACE PRODUCTS

As I've said before, my skin is tricky!
I have very sensitive skin to new products - well, any product in general really! I have dry skin but occasionally have greasy breakouts. I also have psoriasis that flares up around my eyes when the weather randomly changes or I get stressed. So when it comes to anything on my skin I'm pretty limited to what I can use.

SPLISH SPLASH - A QUICK PAMPER

After a hard day at work there is nothing I like more than to fill the bath with bubbles and wack on a face mask.

INTRO TO THE BLOGGER

The Jess in her natural state.

As I'm a newbie to the lotions and potions blogosphere, I thought it's only polite to introduce myself!

REVIEW - MAYBELLINE BROW DRAMA

So in yesterdays post featuring my lazy girl work make up I mentioned my natural brow secret weapon - This is it. Maybelline Brow Drama - £4.99.

GRWM - QUICK WORK MAKE UP

A very quick and easy look this morning.

My beloved Ploof! On the lids and Mythology on the crease.

REVIEW - MAC HAUL

So at the weekend I received my first (and definitely not the last) delivery from MAC - details of products in my previous post.

The first products I tried out were Phloof! and Paradisco eyeshadow and Viva Glam II lipstick.
I wore them to a family BBQ and tried to keep it natural.

SUMMER - PRETTY PASTEL NAILS

Now we're half way through summer and what better way to fight off the holiday blues than make your fingers and toes look like you've dipped them in happiness.....
OK, lots of things are better but pretty nails will make your day a tiny bit easier.

BIRTHDAY GOODIES - PART 2

Just a few cocktails.

My bestie bought me these hilarious socks - My pooch is a Yorkie crossed with a Dachshund and we found these sausage dog socks ages ago online - They are from New Look and I believe still in store.

BIRTHDAY GOODIES - PART 1

A bit of morning hair and age appropriate jammies.

Last Saturday was my 25th birthday and I am a BIG birthday lover! I have successfully dragged out birthday celebrations for a whole week and they have now officially ended! *sad face*

MAC HAUL

After my morning of Next shopping I had a little delivery.

MAC is literally the only eyeshadow that doesn't cause my eyes to explode with an allergic reaction within 24 hours, so as it was my birthday last week I ordered myself some new slap - here is what I've ordered.

NEXT SUMMER SALE HAUL

I love Next! My whole living room looks like a Next showroom, the furniture, the curtains, the pillows...EVERYTHING! Unfortunately one thing I don't like is queues and pushy people so I try and avoid the Next sales. Well that was until I realised all the best stuff is in store - Note to Next: This is really sneaky!
