SMASHBOX SHAPE MATTERS PALETTE - REVIEW

Hey everyone! It's been just over a week since I last blogged and an absolute age since I've done a beauty related post - partially because I've been too busy to do anything apart from walk the dog, cook the dinner and then sleep and also because the light is shocking and taking photo's in the week is just not happening!

After pining for the Smashbox Contour Kit for months I was getting ready to add it to my Christmas list - until this little beauty, the Smashbox Shape Matters palette was on offer in Boots. It contains the same highlight and contour as well as an additional 2 shades. It also has a selection of shadows and brow fillers.

The palette itself is so smooth and simple (and mine is currently covered in make up marks which I obviously didn't clean off before photo'ing). It has a huge mirror inside and comes with an extremely effective brush - one end of which is a brow brush and the other which is a shadow brush.

The palette is split into 3 sections - Brow, Highlight/Contour and Eyes.
The brow kit contains 2 shades and also a brow wax. Across from this we have the contour, bronze, highlight and glow powers. I've really fallen for the "glow" power as it gives a radiant glow that competes with any big name highlighter.
We then have an array of eye shadows, left-right we have - Vanilla, Totally Nude, Champagne, Stripped, Posh, Platinum, Sumatra, Aubergine, Blackout.

As I'm a big fan of the Naked3 palette, I love a good gold/pink shadow! I love to use Champagne and Platinum together to create a stunning copper eye!

When I bought it, it was only a bargain busting £30 - I believe this is price at £60 now. It seems pretty steep but when you think about it the Contour Kit alone is £30...its actually worth the splurge!

If you fancy giving it a try you can get it from Boots, Smashbox or for my US readers Sephora.

  1. I wish I'd got my mitts on this before it went back up to full price! I've always heard great things about Smashbox and their primers are fantastic. The only thing it's missing is a blusher! X

  2. AHHH no! I practically jumped on it when it went on sale in Boots! I actually only paid £20 for it! 🙈 It is missing a blusher though, other wise it would be perfect!
