I'm not the biggest fan of eyelash extensions (I find them a little awkward when removing eyeliner and eye shadow) I needed to find a waterproof mascara and as everyone has been raving about Maybelline's Lash Sensational...I thought I would give it a shot!
I have been using this mascara day to day for a few weeks previous to my holiday and I am in love with how it makes my lashes look - yes OK, you need an oily eye make up remover to get it all off but don't all good mascara's? - but how would it actually rate on the scales of waterproofness?
And what better way to test this than at one of the biggest and wettest water parks in the world!
So before I headed off to Siam Park in Tenerife I wacked on two coats of the mascara, top and bottom lashes, and headed off with my face wipes in toe - you know, just in case.
When we arrived we first hit a rapid like water slide which landed spinning into the pool at the bottom - not to much splash but enough to start off.
Then we moved onto a bigger slide that winds around like a taboggan track and dives straight into the water at the end - full on face splash, but nope, nothing! Not even a trace of black.
We then raced down the Mega Racer, in which you lie face down on a mat and push yourself down the long humpy slight - skidding through the water face first. And still, not a single bit of mascara budged!
After a few of the rides we headed onto the lazy river, which was overall not testing until my lovely boyfriend pushed me through the waterfall "for experimentation purposes".
Even after wiping my eyes my lashes remained intact.
The final test was down to the infamous Wave Machine.
The waves come every few minutes for around half an hour and on a few occasions I can safely say I was dragged under the water quite a few times. I even dived under the water a few times and yet my mascara remained firmly in place.
In conclusion, this mascara survived a day at one of the most soaktastic water parks!
This definitely gets my seal of approval!
